3S News for February 17 - February 21

There will not be vocabulary words this week.
For the next two weeks we will be working on informational writing projects during our ELA time. We will be starting to write our biographies on Monday. In grammar, we will be learning about linking verbs.
This week, we will be continuing to learn about different ways to represent division problems. We will also be learning about multiplication patterns with even and odd factors. Finally, we will multiply by a multiple of 10 (40 x 2, 30 x 7).
Please continue to practice the multiplication facts for the next test on Friday, February 21st.

Tutoring is on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Please drop your child off between 8:30-8:35.
On Wednesday, February 19th is the BES skate night at Latrobe Skating Center from 6-8:30.
The last day for the Olympic Reading Challenge is on Friday, February 28th. This is also our last day with Miss Harris.
On Thursday, March 5th there will be parent teacher conferences in the evening (5-8). I will be scheduling conferences to discuss academic, behavior, or social needs from 5-6:30. Then, from 6:30-8:00 we will have student led conferences where everyone is welcome to visit our classroom and have your child show you some of their work that will be on display. More information will be sent home regarding this event.
The BES Winter Carnival is on Saturday, March 7th.
Our class is going to the Art Symposium on Monday, March 9th.
Our recorder concert is Tuesday, March 10 at 2:00.
Each evening students should study spelling words and math facts, practice the fluency passage, read for the reading challenge, and work on the spiral sheet. All weekly tests will be on Fridays unless otherwise noted.
