The Class of 2027 recently kicked off its final year of high school with the sixth annual Senior Sunrise on Graham-Sobota Field. Sponsored by Student Council, the early morning event brought the senior class together with blankets and homemade photo frames to watch the dawn of their graduation year. More than just a photo opportunity and a time to eat doughnuts, the event served as a perfect moment for seniors to bond and look forward to their milestone events ahead. The perfect sky offered a symbolic start to what promises to be an unforgettable year for the Class of 2027. 🌅

Congratulations to our Wildcat of the Month honorees! 🎉 Your hard work, leadership, and positive impact make us proud to celebrate you. Keep shining, Wildcats! ✨🧡🖤

The Greater Latrobe Partners in Education Foundation awarded over $25,000 to support 28 classroom grants for the 2026-2027 school year. These funds go towards curricular enrichment requests from district faculty and staff, such as equipment, materials, and more.
This includes new hands-on STEM materials at Latrobe Elementary School, such as the Kodo Outdoor Ramps, which enhance the outdoor L.E.A.P. area to allow students to build, manipulate, explore movement, and use creativity with items that they are surrounded by everyday. Inside the school, new engaging STEM building toys allow students to problem solve, collaborate, and have fun!

Greater Latrobe Senior High School Link Crew leaders hosted a tailgate for freshmen before the varsity football game this past Friday evening at Memorial Stadium. Students had the opportunity to socialize with one another about the first weeks of school, play yard games, and enjoy hotdogs grilled by Senior High Principal Dr. Benning before heading to the "Wildcat Den" to cheer on the football team and marching band. 🧡🖤

Greater Latrobe Junior High students in Mrs. Jordan's art classes recently completed several projects to honor veterans, America's 250th birthday, and the 25th anniversary of 9/11. These projects included a paper chain flag, patriotic zentangles, and the Freedom Wings mural. More than just beautiful pieces of art - they are tributes to our nation's strength, resilience, freedom, and unity.

Mountain View Elementary School kindergarteners were excited to put their greeting and introduction skills into practice these past 2 weeks! Mrs. Teslevich’s students had the wonderful opportunity to meet our School Resource Officers and proudly introduce themselves. From confident introductions to friendly greetings, our littlest learners showed off their big voices, great manners, and growing confidence! What a fun way to practice important social skills while getting to know someone who helps keep our schools safe! 💙

Baggaley Elementary School sixth graders participated in a 9/11 anniversary digital learning experience through the 9/11 Memorial and Museum. The students watched a video provided by the museum, where they heard first hand accounts from survivors and family members affected by the tragic day. After watching together, each student wrote down a question they had, and those questions were answered via a live chat in real time from employees of the museum.
They also created a survivor tree outside of their classrooms inspired by the pear tree that survived the 9/11 attacks. Each student decorated a leaf to add to the tree with symbols and words that resonated with them after learning about the survivors’ stories. #NeverForget 🇺🇸

Prior to the start of the Wildcat Varsity Football game at Memorial Stadium this evening, Greater Latrobe was proud to showcase a 30’ x 60’ American flag on the field during the National Anthem in honor of the 25th anniversary of September 11. 🇺🇸 Thank you to the Woodmen Life “Celebrating Red, White, and Blue” program for providing the flag and to the Greater Latrobe Boys Soccer Program for holding the flag during the pre-game ceremony. #NeverForget ❤️🤍💙 🧡🖤

Greater Latrobe students showed their unity and patriotism today by wearing red, white, and blue in honor of the 25th anniversary of September 11th. ❤️🤍💙
On this day, our school community stands together to honor the heroes, remember the lives lost, and celebrate the enduring spirit of our country. Seeing our hallways filled with patriotic colors is a powerful reminder of the resilience, strength, and kindness that connects us all. 🇺🇸 #NeverForget

Greater Latrobe School District would like to honor and thank our local first responders who serve our school community everyday. Our community is stronger and safer because of their unwavering dedication and sacrifice. Today, our administrators and staff, on behalf of the school district, showed their support by delivering assortments of cookies from The Sugar Shack Pizza and Pastry Shop to several of our local fire and police departments. A small gesture to show our tremendous gratitude! 🇺🇸❤️🤍💙

Today, our school community pauses to remember the lives lost and changed forever on September 11, 2001. We honor the heroes, the first responders, and the extraordinary acts of unity that shone through a dark moment in our nation's history. Today, we teach our students not just about the tragedy of 9/11, but about the resilience, compassion, and service that define our community and our country. #NeverForget

Today, September 10th, on Arnold Palmer’s birthday 🎂, we recognize the incredible life, career, and enduring legacy of one of our most legendary alumni ✨ (Class of 1947).
Before he became a global sporting icon, a 7-time major champion, and an international ambassador for the game of golf, Arnie was a Wildcat. 🐾 He dominated the local links right here in Westmoreland County, winning back-to-back Pennsylvania high school state championships. ⛳️
Despite flying to the absolute highest peaks of success, Mr. Palmer never forgot his roots. His immense generosity transformed our community, including his support of our Greater Latrobe Partners in Education Foundation and the naming of the Arnold Palmer Fieldhouse on our high school campus. 🧡🖤
We are endlessly proud to walk the halls he once walked and carry on the tradition of hard work, humility, and kindness that he defined. #WildcatPride
